Red Line Brewery Tour

In this bonus episode Ross, Tony, and Joel go on the annual Red Line Brewery Tour.

On a lazy Saturday we take to the Cap Metro and visit the breweries along the rail lane while we talk a lot about Arrested Development and Peter Serafinowicz. We drink ambers at Circle Brewing, lagers at Black Star Co-op, kolsches at The Brewtorium, and pale ales at Zilker Brewing and have a lot of fun in search of stamps and socks.

In this special episode we make a trip to Whitestone Brewery in beautifully historic Cedar Park.

We meet with owner Ryan and salesman extraordinaire Kevin and talk about homebrewing, the difficulties in trying to get people to drink unfamilar beer, and weed beers while nerding out over beer and drinking a selection from Whitestone including Brueggerhoff Bohemian Pilsner, Azakuanot Hazy IPA, and Ubergang German Pale Ale.

And we're just getting started.

Also Cutter's mom was there. We're not sure but we may have insulted him more because of it.

In this episode we try Einhorn Berliner Weisse from Austin Beerworks.

We become divided very early on this beer. Before we finish we talk about floating the river, chips, taco tunnels, the Simpsons, drinking beer in a nuclear apocalypse, more John Cena, and Ross becomes Antwone Fisher for a bit.

In this special episode we travel to Fort Worth and try Possum Kingdom Pilsner from Martin House Brewing.

Ross, Chance, and newcomer Scott discuss the Fort Worth craft beer scene, the Toadies, basketball, fantasy football, Over the Top, and Andy Samberg at one point for some reason that now eludes us.

In this episode we talk to Dan and Gaby from the Texas Yeast Lab.

We drink Weihenstephaner's Original Premium Lager and newly rebranded Modelo Negra. We discuss everything yeast from mutations, different lager strains, and the migration of European yeasts.

We also get to talk about beginnings, endings, hometowns, and how some people got together to start collecting and propigating yeast strains to help make great Texas beers. And probably some not so great Oklahoma beers.

*Shudder* Oklahoma

And then Cutter tries to slip Kansas into more conversations.

In this episode we sit down with Brannon Radicke, head brewer at Independence Brewing.

He shares with us Red Bud Cucumber Berliner Weisse, Power and Light Pale Ale, and their brand new Native Texan Pilsner. We talk about Independence's latest growth, future projects, homebrewing, and the difficulties of making lagers.

And then we shotgun cans fresh off the line. But we didn't record that.
