On this episode we traveled with Indy Craft Brew to Fort Wayne, Indiana. We gotta stop saying that cause we are now Indy Craft brew as well....Anyway.

Upon arrival, we found ourselves in front of a small strip of businesses, and in the heart of the building was a brewery gem!

2Toms Brewing Company has an incredibly inviting atmosphere, open, modern and crisp with unique detail everywhere you looked. We had the opportunity to sit down in the brewery with Tom (yes, there is just one Tom) the founder and brewer and talked to him about how he got started in brewing. We sampled and discussed several of his unique, clean and very tasty brews, as well as the process and the meaning of the names behind them.

Listen to this episode and find out why 2Toms Brewing Company was voted the best brewery in Indiana by our Indy Craft Brew followers and why that should be your next brewery trip!

Hey you little craft beer nerds!

OK, we're not going to list all of the beers that we had because we had many! What we can tell you is that we ventured out at 450 North Brewing in Columbus, Indiana and sat with McKinley from sales and Brian the assistant brewer.

We were all fortunate enough to try all of the new releases a day prior and boy did we love them!

Enough of words, dive into the audio and check it out because this was a fun episode!

On this episode of Out Here Having a Pint, we traveled to Moontown Brewing located in Whitestown, IN. Adam from TheSpeak Podcast joined us as well.

There was a lot of excitement at Moontown over the weekend as they hosted a tapping party for two amazing beers, Belgiumnasium, a Belgian Strong and Rocket to the Moon, a Russian Imperial Stout, which was a collaboration brew with Whitestown Beer Fest winner of 2018, Nick Boling.

Take a listen as we talk with Nick about his experience brewing on a large scale system, and Cody and Bobby, owners and brewers at Moontown Brewing on how they got started and how far they’ve come!

On this episode we went out to meet the rest of the Indy Craft Brew gang to have a beer share. We're not sure if we were having a beer share or a beer fest, but either way it was amazing.

Mckinley Naylor invited us to delve into the Abyss (His beer fridge) and try whatever we wanted. The result?..........A magnificent display of some of the best beers around. Here is the list of the Breweries the beers came from;

On this episode, things got a bit wild as Kevin ran around in the Military Park at the 23rd Annual Microbrewers Festival.

There were hundreds of beers to sample which featured cask ales, specialty beers, and as many 3 oz. pours as you can responsibly drink. Believe me, Kevin and Kelsy had a hell of a time.

As Kevin drank throughout the day, he spoke with people at the event as well as the fine brewery folks. He also ran into Pete from TheSpeak Podcast.

Maybe next episode, we can convince Kevin not to yell in the microphone....

On this episode, we made our way to the gorgeous mountains of North Carolina, and landed in Asheville, one of the best brewery towns! There are many excellent breweries and it's hard to hit them all in one day, but we did our best and managed to load up some friends and head out on an adventure of Speed Pints! We found ourselves at the beautiful Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. first, followed by One World Brewery, Green Man Brewery, and Burial Beer Co. While there, we each chose a different pint (or flight) and shared our thoughts on the beer.

Ay, we couldn't end our day without travelling down to Spartanburg, South Carolina to enjoy some of the best southern fried food at Ike's Korner Grill. We aren't a food podcast by any means, but, you don't want to miss our new friend that joined us for drunken conversations over some (super thick) fried bologna, and $2 domestics...(don't tell on us).

On this episode, we travel down to Forest City, North Carolina where we met up with Chris McCracken of York Chester Brewing Company to speak with him about the tap takeover beers that he had over at the Twisted Pear.

York Chester Brewing Company is located at 1500 River Drive, Suite 250
Belmont, North Carolina.

Right off their page -

York Chester Brewing Company was founded in 2014 by Jarvis and Julia Roberts. YCBC, for short, was named for the beautiful York Chester Historic District in which the Roberts reside.

YCBC opened in Belmont, NC in October 2016, in the Riverside Complex which was formerly the Spectrum Dye Mill, located on the banks of the Catawba River.
YCBC is a diamond in the rough located towards the back of the industrial complex. Our small taproom provides an intimate environment in which strangers can quickly become friends through conversation or a shared board game. We have a TV for watching sports or movie night. Outside there are picnic tables provided for seating as well as a fire pit to help keep you warm!
We welcome dogs to the outdoor seating area of our brewery and have treats on hand to help them feel right at home! Children are also welcome! You may also bring your own food in to eat.

Listen in as we try 3 of their wonderful brews!

On our first ever out of state podcast, we traveled to Forest City, North Carolina where we were able to sit down and have a chat with Burnt Chimney Brewing Company head brewer, Ben Frankoski, his wife (head of quality control), Jamie Frankoski, and the man responsible for the label graphics, Chad Gordon.

Join us as we taste some delicious Burnt Chimney brews while learning how Ben got started in home brewing. We also discuss the thoughts behind the label graphics, and learn about what we have to look forward to in the future when Burnt Chimney Brewing Company becomes a destination location in Forest City, North Carolina. We certainly can't wait until our next visit so we can (fingers crossed) visit their brewery and enjoy some of these craft beers on tap!

On this episode of 'Out Here Having a Pint', we drove out to Moontown Brewing Company in Whitestown Indiana. There we met up with Jeremiah Tyson and Trey Strukel of Circle City Zymurgy which is a very known home-brew club in Indiana.

Our mission was to sit down with a flight and give Moontown a go to see if we would have a pint of their beers or if we would pass. By no means were either one of us a BJCP judge, so take our opinions with a grain of salt. With that said, together we were in company with experienced brewers for sure!.

Come have a listen as we talk through the styles and brewing processes while we drink on Moontowns finest!

On Episode 12, we visit Cedar Creek Brew Co in Martinsville, Indiana where we speak with Brandon Fry and one of his crew mates Mike to discuss the many beers that they have on tap as well as trying some barrel aged additions.

Cedar Creek is a special place where not only do they brew beer, but they are also a winery and distillery.

As we deep dive into a flight, we ask Brandon a number of questions around his start in the brewing world as well as the continued vision that he and owner Bryce Elsner has in store this year.

If you visit Cedar Creek, be sure to grab a pint of their award winning Breakfast Stout that was indeed very tasty.

You will find the OHHAP crew hanging out here quite often, and if you're ever in the neighborhood, we recommend you do so too.

Still recovering from the flu, Kevin and Kelsy were out having a pint (and flight) at Function Brewing in Bloomington, Indiana. There, they spoke with the owners Arlyn and Steve Llewellyn to discuss their great food menu as well as their excellent craft beer!

Arlyn sat down with us first and spoke about her vision on creating a great menu that pairs perfectly with the beer as well as how she got started building a brewery with her husband Steve.

Later during the interview, Steve came from down in the basement where that magic brewing happens and spoke with us about his brewing process.

In our opinion, they have the two things that they claim is King in Btown. Their Tangent IPA and their hot Smokehouse sandwich!

Mic check..., 1, 2, 1, 2.....Bueller!!

Hey there, in what we're calling Episode 0, we interviewed the owners (Tony and Connie Musgrave) at 21 North Eatery and Cellar in Martinsville, Indiana. While on location, we discussed their fantastic restaurant and asked how craft beer is impacting the business.

It was a fun night and we were ready for any audio issues the next morning. This was the first time that we were in the field with our new equipment. We did have the mic volume up a tad too much in the beginning, but we were able to bring the audio down as much as we could without degrading the quality in post editing.
