FINALLY! A new episode is posted! It has been a very long time since my last episode was posted, and first of all, I do apologize for that. This was an exciting episode to record. Not only did I drink, dissect and enjoy some great beers, I had the pleasure to talking with Aaron, the owner of Goat Throne Records. We conducted an interview about his label, some of the bands on his roster, and about Craft Beer.

Goat Throne Records is this episode's sponsor! I was provided two releases from the label, so I could feature music from these albums. The bands I featured on this episode are INFURIATE, and VALGRIND. Please support these amazing bands and label.

We're back, mother fuckers! Yes, we are still alive and kicking. Welcome to episode 17, Beerfest in the Deep. On this episode, we were at the San Antonio Beer Festival, which took place on Saturday, October 20th, 2018. We walked around with our handheld digital recorder and spoke to some of the industry people who were there at the festival. Originally, this was going to be a 3-4 part episode, but we did not get to talk to everybody as originally planned, and after the edits were made, I was able to put together this less than an hour long episode. After adding the Metal music, it pushed the episode to over an hour long. We really hope you enjoy this episode, as much as we enjoyed recording it.

Join us for episode 14, as we entered an old church building turned brewery, and listen to us chat with Bobby Harl, Owner/Brewmaster of the Porter, TX brewery, Back Pew Brewing. This was our very first brewery interview for our podcast. We think it went very well, and we look forward to doing a lot more of these throughout our podcast career.

We discuss their beers, Bobby Harl's brewing career and background, their wonderful location, the latest trends in Craft Beer, their label artwork, of course Metal, and a whole lot more. We see a great future for this amazing brewery. We look forward to following their career, and having many of their offerings.

This episode is named Smell the Beer in Churches, a play on words of the killer fucking tune, Smell the Burning Churches by the amazing Ohio based Death Metal band, Nunslaughter. About 2 weeks ago we took the show on the road again. We went to Houston, TX and did a few brewery visits while there. We started out at 8th Wonder Brewery, then hopped across the street to the newly opened 8th Wonder Distillery. After we left that area, we went to Town in City Brewing Company, then closed out our day at Great Heights Brewing Company. We went on a Sunday, so we needed to be picky about where we went due to hours and limitations.

We drank a lot of beer, got a little trashed, and you can hear it as the show goes on. Pretty funny shit! We drank a few Hazy NEIPA's despite our love (sarcastic) for whole Haze Craze. We were met by a good friend, Jorge Venegas, who works at Spec's in the Beer Department. It was fun having him join us.

There were no Metal Connections in tis episode, but I did manage to include a featured band. Our episode is titled "Road Rage Beer Killer" based on the song Road Rage Killer by the German Heavy Metal band, Grave Digger. This theme song comes from their Return of the Reaper album from 2014. This German band has had a very long career dating back to 1980. It was fun and entertaining going through their 19 full length albums to find songs to be included in this episode. Besides our theme song, you can also here these amazing tunes: Heavy Metal Breakdown, Playin' Fools, Fight the Fight, Shadowmaker, Baphomet, Spirits of the Dead, Hell to Pay, Hell Dog, and Call for War.

As usual, please support the bands featured on our show. They deserve all the support from every single one of you! We use music on our show to showcase and promote all the bands featured.

----more----

The breweries as well deserve your support as they are also very hard working people who provide us with their tasty beverages.

Hello Beer Metal Crusaders. Welcome to episode #12 of The Beer Metal Show, a Podcast that reviews beer and pairs each beer with a Metal Connection. This week's episode is entitled "Boiling Beer!" Why, cause we're going to talk about homebrewing or the process of boiling when creating a beer...No, because it's a play on words of one of my favorite songs by the almighty God Dethroned, which is our featured band this episode.

On this episode we drank and reviewed four amazing beers for listening pleasure. A huge thanks goes out to my good friend, Jorge Espinoza of animebeers.com for hooking us up with three of the four beers. You rule brother! Listen to us babble on about Blood Junkie, an Imperial Red Ale by Three Weavers Brewing Co. in collaboration with Prosthetic Records, Beast from the Far East by Clown Shoes Beer, Shredd Session by Pizza Port Brewing Co. in collaboration with 3 Floyds Brewing Co., and Blast Beast, a Black IPL by Phantom Carriage Brewery in collaboration with Nuclear Blast Records. Talk about a fuckin' packed show filled with Metal AF beers! We paired each beer with some killer fuckin' tunes by Wolf, Chrome Division, Belphegor, and Deathcore.

As I said, God Dethroned is the featured band and you can hear some amazing songs from throughout their career including Boiling Blood, God Dethroned, The Somberness of Winter, The Crown for the Morbid, Soul Sweeper, The Grey Race, The Day you Died, and On Fields of Death & Desolation.

As usual, please support the bands featured on our show. They deserve all the support from every single one of you! We use music on our show to showcase and promote all the bands featured.

We took our show on the road for episode #11. Recently we bought some new equipment that would help us do some different and creative things with our little show here. This episode is called "Ravenous Beer Machine" for two reasons. First, because we were out on the road to visit some breweries, and secondly because our theme song is "Ravenous War Machine" by the Norwegian Death Metal band, Blood Red Throne.

----more----

We had an idea to visit 9 breweries and do a little recording at all of them, but the day ended only after 2 breweries. Womp womp! It was still a fantastic day, as we went and drank some fine liquid at Rough Diamond Brewery out in Spring Branch, TX, then we ended our day hanging out with some of our best friends, Steve & Nikki Urias at Real Ale Brewing Company in Blanco, TX.

Please be gentle with us, as this was the first time using our on-location equipment, and I still need to figure it out and adjust the settings just right.

There were no Metal Connections during this episode, but there was a featured band, as mentioned above. Songs featured by Blood Red Throne during this episode were Ravenous War Machine, Malediction, Tortured Soul Appearance, Rebirth in Blood, Demand, Eternal Decay, In Hell I Roam, and Proselyte Virus.

As usual, please support the bands featured on our show. They deserve all the support from every single one of you! We use music on our show to showcase and promote the featured bands.

Please check out the featured breweries from this episode as well. These hard-working people also deserve all the support they can get. So in other words, get your fuckin' asses down here to Texas and visit Rough Diamond Brewery and Real Ale Brewing Company.

We have made it to episode #10 without #1, killing each other, and #2, giving up! On this week's episode we decided to change up a bit and do a whole new format. We invited some San Antonio Craft Beer veterans for a discussion about the latest beer trends. It was our pleasure to have Blake Murrah (former HEB Grocery Beer Dept., former Southern Star Brewing Company Sales Rep), and Jeremy Banas (known for being a published writer and contributor to some well known beer magazines/websites). Mostly we give our opinions on the Haze Craze! We talk about Hazy IPA's, NEIPA's, Pastry Stouts, Glitter Beer, and all the other stupid new trends that are out there! ----more----

We ended up going into all kinds of subjects during our longest show to date. Don't worry, we did also drink some beer, and gave our reviews on the beers we drank. We dove right into a NEIPA called Not a Collaboration provided by Saint Arnold Brewing Company. Then I pulled an oldie out of the beer fridge, a 2015 Smoked Porter by Alaskan Brewing Company, which held up beautifully, by the way! We only had time to drink a third beer, and our conversation steered us towards a Berliner Weisse, so we shared a Mikkeller beer by the name of Hallo Ich Bin Berliner Weisse Passion Fruit.

There were no Metal Connections on this episode, but there is a featured band, the German Thrash Death Metal band, Holy Moses. They provided us the title song for this episode, "Hate is Just a Four Letter Word" from their 1994 full length album, No Matter What's the Cause. This is actually a cover song, originally performed by a band called Shock Therapy. Of course, I changed the title to HAZE is Just a Four Letter Word to match our subject matter. I did the best I could to fit some more Holy Moses music into the show, and you could hear some songs being played in the background of us talking. We also featured the songs Queen of Siam, In the Slaughterhouse, Strange Deception, Guns 'n' Moses, Malicious Race, Fuck You, Hell on Earth, Rebirthing, Alienation, and Undead Dogs. This put one song from each of their studio full length albums to date. Please check out the songs, and buy their albums, maybe some merch. Show some love to this awesome fuckin' band!

We really want to thank all you mother fuckers out there for supporting this show and taking the journey with us. We are happy to have made it this far.

FINALLY, we have released a new episode. It has been a month since our last episode. We had to take some time off due to some family matters, but we are back, mother fuckers! Did you miss us? Yes... awesome, we love you too. No... Well, Fuck you! One thing that has not changed in this past month is that we still hate the Hazy and Milkshake IPA craze, and those stupid fuckin' small stickers they slap on the cans that they expect us to call beer labels. Fuck that! ----more----

This is "Saison of the Wicked!" This one is an all Saison/Farmhouse Ale episode featuring four amazing beers from different states in the US. First up, we drank and reviewed Beatitude Passion Fruit Tart Saison by Council Brewing Company from San Diego, California. Next up was Cucumber Farmhouse by Uinta Brewing Company from Salt Lake City, Utah. The third beer after the mid show break was called Mother Night, a Winter Solstice Dark Funky Saison by Noble Rey Brewing Company from Dallas, Texas. Lastly, we ended the show with a bit of a surprise. A friend of mine brought us a bottle recently that we decided to throw into this episode, because, well, we just couldn't fuckin' wait to drink this bitch. We are talking about The Devil's Farmhouse by Schlafly, The Saint Louis Brewery from, well duh, Saint Louis, Missouri.

The title of this episode comes from the song "Season of the Wicked" by the amazing Death Metal giants, Sinister from The Netherlands. We heard some killer fuckin' songs from Sinister throughout this episode. Please check out these links to hear these awesome songs. Putrefying Remains, Sadistic Intent, Embodiment of Chaos, Into the Forgotten, Afterburner, and Palace of the Fates. All are really great songs. In fact, I had a hard time choosing which songs I wanted to feature here, cause trust me, there were many other songs on my list to be featured.

Metal Connection songs include Master - Faith is Still in Season, Pain - Season of the Reaper, Benediction - Dark is the Season, and Nazghor - Upon the Darkest Season.

As usual, please support these hard-working bands by showing support for them and their respected Record Labels by visiting their sites, purchasing anything released by them from music to merchandise. Do the same for these breweries that release these amazing beers, as well.

We are a proud member of The Hopped Up Network.

Thank you for your support mother fuckers! We appreciate it! Cheers!

This is Episode #7, the newest installment from The Beer Metal Show Podcast. A Show which is dedicated to the two best things, Craft Beer and Fuckin' Metal. It was Easter Sunday, and we found ourselves read to drink some beer, after we had a family lunch at my mother's house. Usually, we try to drink the beers reviewed separately throughout the week, so we don't get too trashed, but we said "Fuck it, let's drink all 4 beers today!"

----more----

Adding the Metal Connections, and then doing the editing to the show takes up some time, but I was finally able to finish, and get this episode uploaded. This episode features some amazing Craft Beers from Russian River Brewing Company, Bear Republic Brewing, and Roughtail Brewing. This was an all IPA show! The awesome part was that none of them were fucking hazy beers! The beers featured were Roughtail Brewing Hoptometrist, Bear Republic Brewing Hop Shovel, and Pliny the Elder along with Blind Pig, both from Russian River Brewing.

The featured band was Germany's Power/Heavy Metal band, Primal Fear. One of my favorite bands. On this episode you could hear these amazing songs: "Metal is Forever," "Running in the Dust," "Fight to Survive," "Fight the Fire," "Mind Control," "Evil Spell," and "The Healer." Some excellent song choices for the Metal Connections including songs by Artillery, Rumpelstiltskin Grinder, Destroyer 666, and Kataklysm. Hoptometrist was paired with Artillery - Doctor Evil. Hop Shovel was paired with Rumpelstiltskin Grinder - Grab a Shovel (We've Got Bodies to Bury). Blind Pig IPA was paired with Destroyer 666 - Die you Fucking Pig. Finally, Pliny the Elder was paired with Kataklysm - Elder God.

This is Episode #6(66), the newest installment from The Beer Metal Show Podcast. A Show which is dedicated to the two best things, Craft Beer and Fuckin' Metal. On this episode we (The Beer Metal Dude & The Craft Brewja) find ourselves drinking and reviewing some Metal fuckin' beers from some great breweries. ----more----We featured Hammer of the Gods by Braindead Brewing from Dallas, TX. This is an Imperial Wheat Porter aged in Bourbon Barrels. This one was vintage 2017 at 11% ABV. We then go right into another heavy beer, a 13.5% Imperial Stout brewed with coffee and cocoa nibs, aged in Bourbon Barrels, Vintage 2016. This beer was called Track #10: Bat Outta Hell by The Lost Abbey from San Marcos, CA. We take some time off to do some serious drinking at the 5th year anniversary party for 8th Wonder Brewery, which is who I work for. Sorry, we did not record this adventure. We then recover to come back and finish off the episode. We go right into TRVE Brewing with their 1000 Eyes, a Whiskey Barrel Aged Sour Ale vintage 2015. This one was at 7.5% ABV. We then finish off the episode with Burial Beer Company from Ashville, NC with their Bolo Coconut Brown Ale. This one sits at 5.6% ABV. Excellent beers this episode, for sure!

Of course, there is also some fuckin' Metal on this episode. Our featured band to fit perfect with episode 6(66) was none other than Deicide from Florida. We took their song "When Satan Rules His World" and titled out episode after that song. It is the first song you hear after our intro. Other songs we hear from Deicide are "Once Upon the Cross," "Deicide," "Trifixion," "Carnage in the Temple of the Damned," "Homage for Satan," and finally "Satan Spawn, the Caco Daemon."

Not only do we feature a band on each episode, we also have our Metal Connections for each beer. Here is what we featured this episode:

Here we are with part 2 of the TUPPS Brewery Experience. The last 3 beers of this variety 6-pack are reviewed in this episode. Excellent Metal Connections as usual with these three. My co-host, my wife Maria "210Brewja" Mendiola and I had a really exciting time recording this episode. As much as we praise TUPPS  Brewery for being an awesome place with good beers, we had some mishaps with these three beers while recording this episode. You will have to hear this one to see what I am talking about.

Greetings Mother Fuckers and Fuckettes, and welcome to episode #3 of The Beer Metal Show. I am your host, Aaron Mendioa, a.k.a. The Beer Metal Dude. Joining me today is my lovely wife, Maria, a.k.a. The 210 Brewja. This episode features beers from TUPPS Brewery out of McKinney, TX. A couple of years ago, for my birthday, we visited the Dallas, TX area and went to several breweries over a few days span. TUPPS was one of those breweries that we visited. Recently, they have opened distribution here in San Antonio, TX with their 6-pack variety box. In this episode, we reviewed the first 3 beers from this box, Day Off Kölsch, Texas Shade Wheat, and Cotton Mill Gold Pale Ale. There are excellent Metal Connections, as usual. Please be sure to check out all the bands, and beers featured within this episode.

Greetings Corpse Carvers an Craft Beer Drinkers, I am your host, Aaron Mendiola aka The Beer Metal Dude and welcome to Episode 2 of The Beer Metal Show Podcast.

Here we do Craft Beer Reviews with a nice little touch called The Metal Connection, where I pair a fun family friendly Metal song with the featured beer. I have been doing so since 2013 with my blog site, BeerMetalDude.com. Recently I have decided to make a podcast, thus creating The Beer Metal Show.

So excited to be presenting you episode #2 with some amazing Craft Beers. This week the beers are all from the US. First up we will be talking about Apex Predator, a Saison/Farmhouse Ale by Off Color Brewing from Chicago, IL followed by Biere Joi from Bayou Teche from Louisiana. This one is a Belgian Dubbel brewed with a local coffee from their area then aged in oak barrels with cocoa nibs and chile d’arbol peppers. OK, next up will be One Barrel Brewing Company’s 5th Element, a Rye IPA, which I normally love, so we’ll see how this one held up to my standards. And finally, the show will end with The Dude’s Brewing Company and their Juicebox series Blood Orange Amber Ale which features cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, and hand zested California Blood Oranges.I have some fuckin great Metal Connections to go along with these beer reviews. What an amazing episode this will be.

In late October 2017, a new idea came to mind. This idea was to put my reviews up in a podcast. I purchased some inexpensive equipment to start off with, since I am a cheap mother fucker, and I am good at making cheap shit work like luxurious shit! It was definitely a lot easier to talk about a beer over a microphone rather than typing out what I was trying to say in paragraph form for the blog. I will still put up a written review here and there for those that are not reviewed on the podcast, but majority of my beer reviews will now be talked about. I hope you still follow my Craft Beer & Metal journey, and click the link to the podcast. Please share it, comment, like it, all that good shit.
