Brewers Round Table: April 2020

This weeks episode was inspired by our friends The Mass Brew Bros‘s blog post What is the Future of the Massachusetts Craft Beer Industry, Post Pandemic: Local Brewers Weigh In. If you haven’t had a chance to read it please check it out!

The primary focus of this virtual round table discussion is to allow a platform for some of the blog posts contributors to discuss together life as a brewery now more than a month into the pandemic. 

Topics range from how they have adapted to the current climate to their views outlooks on the current situation, and what the future might look like.

As the Mass Brew Bros put so eloquently: “We caution readers and listeners, however, not to draw too many conclusions on what other breweries may be experiencing, or the fate of the industry as a whole, based on this sampling. It’s simply a series of snapshots that reveal what some in the local industry are currently dealing with”.

In November of 2018 the Brew Roots crew was introduced to Channel Marker Brewing in Beverly Massachusetts. For us it was the first time we interviewed a new brewery before they were open. To hear about Channel Marker's beginning make sure to listen Episode 44 with them!

We remember leaving Channel Marker always thinking we need to do a follow up episode with them down the road. Well here is that episode.

We made our way to Western Mass to find out what's the deal with their beer scene and we were told we need to stop at Rustic Brewing in Indian Orchard right outside of Springfield. We are sure glad that we listened.

This episode goes into the story of how three friends passion in beer turned into opening a brewery, that prides themself one attention to detail and the freshness of their beer.

The Brew Roots crew made their way up to Littleton New Hampshire to hang out with Schilling Beer Co.

Schilling started out as a dream between 3 brothers, their father and their best friend a little over 15 years ago.

We ventured our way back to Western Massachusetts! This week we got to hang out with Fieldcrest Brewing Company. This small batch brewery is owned by Adam and Shannon Field, with the help and support of their family and friends. This duo truly embody the meaning of community by providing delicious beer and food to the people of Western Mass.

In early February we made our way to Sam Adams Boston Tap Room, right within historic Faneuil Hall to talk and drink some beer with Head Brewer Megan Parisi. 

Megan talks about here journey in craft beer, prior to her arrival at Boston Beer Company in 2015 and how she is helping Sam Adams stay relevant in the crazy world of craft beer.
