Well, Matt explains where the name came from and how they have created a wine and #craftbeer culture with their festivals and events. Season 6 Episode 2Erie Brewing Co. Dave, Bret & Ben had the pleasure of talking with Kristy Melquist, regional sales manager, and Richy Britton, head brewer, from Erie Brewing Company. Erie's history goes back to 1993 when it opened as a brewpub, called Hoppers, and then transitioned into a full-time brewery in 1999. We had a great time talking about what drove each of them to Erie and what they each enjoy about their roles in the business. Kristy loves expanding the brand to different regions and her quote is the title of this episode, "Change the world one pint at a time." Richy enjoys the science behind brewing and having creative freedom to experiment with new ideas to bring something new for people to enjoy. Season 6 Episode 1Nepenthe Brewing CoThe whole CPP Crew, including Kevin, are in the house and welcome you to Season 6. As we recorded this, it was Star Wars Day (#maythe4thbewithyou) and Dave's birthday.
We step outside the central Pennsylvania area and our guest in this episode is Chris Lehner from Nepenthe Brewing Co. from Baltimore, MD. From a homebrew supply shop in 2013 to one of Baltimore's Best breweries, the story behind them is incredible.
Chris is the sales manager and you can even find Nepenthe in countries all over the world. WOW, talk about distribution. Chris talks about his journey to Nepenthe and creative artists behind the incredible can art. You have to listen in to the episode and more importantly, make a visit to them!
Chris brought with him a NEIPA, American IPA, East/West Coast IPA and a Double IPA.

We learned the history of Isaac's Restaurant and that it is a Pennsylvania restaurant chain that started with two gentlemen in Lancaster, PA. in 1983.We had a great time getting to know both Johnny and Dan and their stories and careers with Isaac's. We talk about the beer and how the restaurant got into the brewing scene and the Brew Review food pairings they used to do. Season 5 Episode 13Starview BrewsDave, Ben & Bret (no Kevin...again), had the pleasure of visiting Starview Brews in Columbia, PA to do another food and beer pairing. We welcome Mike Knaub, brewer and owner, and Amy Motter to the show and let them tell all us about their food and beer. Mike talks about his journey to open Starview and how is love of seafood came about. Amy's story is unique, she was a patron and now helps Mike with serving and social media. Mike chose some of his favorite dishes to share with us and what beer he and us would recommend.We sampled their Imperial Bisque with their Pinnacle Pils (8:07). Bytheway, this bisque is absolutely outta this world! Next, we sampled the Brussels & Bacon Flatbread with the Procrastinator Doppel Bock (27:41). The mouth-watering continued with the Tri Tips Steak Panini and Chickies Iron Brown Porter (47:38) and we finished with the Pork BBQ Mac & Cheese with the Shockmills Hazy IPA (1:03:57).The CPP Crew can testify that Starview Brews is a must visit eatery and pub! We decided to make a podcast to highlight the different alcohol in the south central Pennsylvania area.
